Ultra-centrifugal force fields are used as a research tool for polymer solutions. One such instrument is the analytical ultracentrifuge used for molecular weight measurements based on sedimentation equilibrium and sedimentation coefficient measurements; another is the spearation ultracentrifuge used to fractionate organic matter.
We used an ultracentrifuge to remove aggregates of BSA (bovine serum albumin) to separate them entirely into monomers.
